Install and Configure Project Server 2013

This Part describes how to install Project Server 2013. The basic procedure is as follows:

  1. On the Project Server 2013 DVD, run default.hta. The Setup menu appears.

  • New need to click on “Install Software Prerequisites”, Since you already install SharePoint 2013 and add App Server to the farm

  • Click on “Install Project Server” to start setup

  • On the Enter your Product Key page, type your product key, and then click Continue.

  • In the End User License Agreement page, review the terms of the agreement. To accept the agreement, select the I accept the terms of this agreement check box. and click Continue

  • On the Choose a file location page, click Install Now.

  • The Installation Progress page will be shown

  • When the installation is complete, clear the Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard now check box. And Click Close.

  • Important Notes:
    • After the Project Server 2013 software has been installed on each application server in the farm, you must run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard to integrate Project Server with SharePoint Server 2013.
    • Run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard on one application server at a time. Do not run it on multiple servers at the same time.

  • Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard

     

    1. Click Start, All Programs, Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products, SharePoint 2013 Products Configuration Wizard. if you use Window Server 2012, Go to Start Page and Type “SharePoint 2013 Products” and click on “SharePoint 2013 Products Configuration Wizard” Tile

  • At the Welcome to SharePoint Products and Technologies page, click Next.

  • A confirmation dialog message appears that displays a list of services that may have to be restarted. Click Yes.

  • On the Modify server farm Settings page, select the Do not disconnect from this server farm option, and then click Next. (Depending on your configuration, this option may not appear)
  • If the server is hosting the SharePoint Central Administration website, the Modify SharePoint Central Administration Web Application Settings page appears. Select the No, this machine will continue to host the web site option, and then click Next. (Depending on your configuration, this option may not appear)
  • On the Completing the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard page, click Next.

  • The Configuration Progress Page will be shown

  • On the Configuration Successful page, click Finish.

  • The Central Administration will be Open, we need to check if our installation is Configured successfully or not. To check it, do the following steps:
    1. From Side Menu, click on Upgrade and Migration link. Then, From Upgrade and Migration Page, click on Check Upgrade Status

  • Confirm that the update done successfully

  • From Side Menu, click on Upgrade and Migration link. Then, From Upgrade and Migration Page, click on Check product and patch installation status, Confirm that NS Project Server 2013 is installed

  • From Side Menu, click on Application Management, From Service Applications Section, click on Manage Service on Server

  • Confirm that you found “” Service is listed in Services on Server Page

  • Now we finish installation and configuration process for Project Server 2013, the next step is to configure Project Server Services and it is covered in next article Part3: Configure Project Server 2013 Application Service

    Everything looks good until the last screen shot above, where the MS Project Server service is not listed! Driving me nuts… Not sure what to do, as rerunning wizards and repairs do nothing. Any ideas?
